This strategy involves the following stages:
• The teacher tells the story, illustrating the meaning of words by miming, using flash cards or drawing them on the board.
• While telling the story, the teacher explains or translates the meaning of new words and asks comprehension and concept questions about new words that come up.
• After telling the story, the teacher asks comprehension and concept questions.
• While telling the story, the teacher pretends to forget words and asks the students to tell those words.
• The teacher tells the entire story, with the new words and retells it, pretending to forget the new words.
