1. ”Bookfest 2024” is a transnational competition and one of the main activities of the homonymous eTwinning project founded in 2023 by two eTwinning schools 2023-2024: Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu", located in Pătârlagele, Romania and Liceul Teoretic “Mihai Eminescu”, located in Florești, the Republic of Moldova.
2. Before the contest, the 4 teachers of English and their students will discuss the project aims and the criteria on the evaluation form so that the expectations in terms of the preparation, delivery and evaluation become clear to everyone. If necessary, the teachers will show a sample presentation.
3. The multimedia competition will be held in January 2024, both locally and transnationally. The finalists’ presentations from each school will be sent to be judged by the teachers from the partner school. Each teacher will select a maximum number of 10 presentations for the transnational competition final.
4. The topics of the competition that the participants may choose from are: 1) My favourite Book; 2) My Favourite Literary Character; 3) My Favourite Novelist.
5. Each participant can enter only one of the two competition sections below:
A) Digital presentations in Power-Point, Canva, Google Slides, Book Creator, Story Jumper (which will not exceed 10 slides or 10 pages);
B) Self-recorded video speeches (which will be at least 3 minutes long).
6. The jury will evaluate and decide the winners of the competition based on the following criteria for each section:
A – Digital presentations: relevance - 20 points, creativity and originality - 20 points, impact and persuation - 20 points, language accuracy, spelling and punctuation - 20 points, protection of copyright and intellectual property (appropriate attribution and proper citation of sources ) - 20 points;
B  – Self-recorded video speeches: content - 20 points, delivery -  20 points, creativity and originality - 20 points; impact and persuasion - 20 points, language accuracy and pronunciation - 20 points.
7. Each presentation must include information on the following: the project title, both the eTwinning and project logos, the contestant name, grade and school and the chosen topic.
8. The coordinating teachers will get the written consent from the participants (if they are 18 years old) or the participants’ parents to use and process their personal data, voice and image (name, age, grade, school affiliation, photographic materials, video recordings) both for this particular eTwinning project activity and for related future activities.
9. The 1st prize will be awarded for 95-100 points, the 2nd prize will be awarded for 90-94 points, the 3rd prize will be awarded for 85-89 points and Honorary Mentions will be awarded for 80-84 points.
10. All the competition winners and the coordinating teachers will receive diplomas signed and stamped by the principals of both partner schools. The competition winners will be announced and promoted on the eTwinning project TwinSpace before January 31st 2024.
