Colours of autumn

Age group: 11 years old
Duration: 1 hour

Subject Focus: Art

Learning objectives:
-to create an autumn landscape using objects from nature;
-to use the colours of autumn in an artistic way;
-to improve students’ reading skills.
Materials: Ipads, sticks, leaves, grass, autumn fruits, the art textbook
Health and Safety:
- instructions are given to the children about the proper behaviour outside the classroom;
-adult supervision whilst outside
Description:
  The activity starts with a discussion about autumn and its colours. Then, students read a text about colour and how it is formed. Students receive thei task-to create a landscape using everything they find around them (sticks, leaves, grass, autumn fruits etc). Their canvas will be the earth în front of them.
After they finish their work, students make a gallery tour to see their classmates' work and take pictures with the Ipads

Evaluation: direct observation of children’s behaviour, discuss the experiences of the activity with the children
Follow-up activity: An exhibition with pictures of students’ work (landscape)
