Liveworksheets ( http://www.liveworksheets.com ) is an online tool that allows teachers to transform traditional printable worksheets (pdf, jpg or png/size limit:5MB) into interactive worksheets with self-correction.
The interactive worksheets created with liveworksheets take may include sounds, videos, drag and drop exercises, join with arrows, multiple choice and speaking exercises. Students can solve the exercises online and send the answers to their teacher. Teachers can see their students’ answers in the mail box. Teachers can create their own worksheets or can use the ones shared by other teachers. Worksheets can be kept private ( there is a limit of 30 worksheets) or shared with others.

"Where the wild things are" (2018-1-UK01-KA229-047991_3) is a KA229 Erasmus+ project implemented by Scoala Gimnaziala Vulcana Pandele (01.09.2018-31.08.2021) that promotes outdoor education

Here is an example of an outdoor activity to develop literacy

Little Red Riding Hood

Age group: 11 years old
Duration: 1 hour
Theme: Literacy
Subject Focus: English through stories
Teacher:

Learning objectives

-to improve students’ listening and reading skills;
-to improve students’ comprehension and writing skills;
- to develop their creativity
Materials: the story Little Red Riding Hood, sticks, leaves, grass, glue, paper, clipboard
Health and Safety:
- instructions are given to the children about the proper behaviour outside the classroom;
-adult supervision whilst outside
Description:
The activity takes place outside. It begins with a brainstorming activity: words students relate to the story. The teacher and the students sit in a circle and read the story followed by comprehension questions about the charecters (how do they look like?, what are they strenghts/weaknesses?). For the next task students have to work in pairs and gather different things from nature and use them to create one of the story’s character and write a short description. In the end, each pair presents their work.
Evaluation: inter-evaluation
Follow-up: An exhibition with students’ final products

Netboard.me is a free online tool easy to use. Registered users have the possibility to create web pages with texts, documents, photos, videos or presentations. Users click on the button Create new netboard and a new page opens. Once users name the netboard and choose private or www. access, click “Edit” to begin editing and adding content to the netboard. Teachers can share a netboard with a link for co-authors that allows students to access and edit its content without having a Netboard.me account.

Genial.ly offers a variety of design tools and features for creating interactive contents such as presentations, infographics, games, interactive images, video presentations. To create visuals, registered users can use pre-made templates or start from scratch. For example, when you make interactive images, choose a template and upload a photo. Then you can add various interactive elements (texts, photos, videos, links) that pop up or open in a new tab when click on the icons. Use the preview mode to check all the functions you’ve added.

Intercultural education should promote understanding and respect for other people and cultures, fights racism and xenophobia, and promote equal opportunities for all. European countries are characterized by diversity and therefore interculturality in Europe implies openness to plurality of values, religions, beliefs and ways of life.
Language learning helps one to achieve consciousness of the various ways of relating in societies characterized by multiculturality. To communicate means to interact culturally, to be able to see one’s own culture in relation to other cultures from other countries and be able to go beyond stereotypes. Learning a global language, such as English, requires to establish relationships with individuals from different cultural origins. It is very important to help learners to interact with speakers of other languages on equal terms, and to be aware of their own identities and those of their interlocutors. Thus, they will become to develop a human relationship with people of other languages and cultures.
Creating an inclusive culture aims at giving students intercultural competence as well as linguistic competence. Learners need to be prepared to interact with people of other cultures and understand that such interaction is an enriching experience.
It is not necessary for a teacher to know everything about the target culture. It is actually impossible as there are many cultures associated with a particular language. A teacher’s job is to design a series of activities to facilitate learners to discuss and draw conclusions from their own experience of the target culture so as to encourage comparative analysis with the students’ own culture. In order to do this, educators should use authentic materials: texts, audio recordings, visual documents (maps, photographs, cartoons etc.) with a critical approach.
An activity about cultural diversity could include topics such as human rights, equality, dignity, gender, stereotype, ethnic minority etc. For example, we can use the YouTube clip What Islam really says about women to start a debate about the role of women in different societies. The same clip can be used for grammar purpose. Tubequizard.com provides educators a large variety of grammar activity for many TED talks similar to What Islam really says about women and allows teachers to create their own quiz.
Cultural learning activities can develop skills, attitudes and competences that are very important for establishing relationships between languages, people and cultures in a globalized world

Colours of autumn

Age group: 11 years old
Duration: 1 hour
Theme: Literacy and Wellbeing
Subject Focus: Art

Learning objectives:
-to create an autumn landscape using objects from nature;
-to use the colours of autumn in an artistic way;
-to improve students’ reading skills.
Materials: Ipads, sticks, leaves, grass, autumn fruits, the art textbook
Health and Safety:
- instructions are given to the children about the proper behaviour outside the classroom;
-adult supervision whilst outside
Description:
The activity starts with a discussion about autumn and its colours. Then, students read a text about colour and how it is formed. Students receive thei task-to create a landscape using everything they find around them (sticks, leaves, grass, autumn fruits etc). Their canvas will be the earth în front of them.
After they finish their work, students make a gallery tour to see their classmates' work and take pictures with the Ipads

Evaluation: direct observation of children’s behaviour, discuss the experiences of the activity with the children
Follow-up activity: An exhibition with pictures of students’ work (landscape)
