Bookfest 2026 is a bilateral transdisciplinary project implemented by Liceul Teoretic “Radu Vlădescu” Pătârlagele (Romania) and Liceul Teoretic “Mihai Eminescu”, Florești (The Republic of Moldova) in order to meet the educational and personal development needs of their school communities in the 2025-2026 school year.
The eTwinning project Bookfest 2026 fully reflects the mission of the eTwinning School through its commitment to collective leadership, collaboration and teamwork, inclusion, and innovation among students and teachers, in order to shape more active and responsible citizens capable of adapting to a constantly changing society. The planned activities – from multimedia presentation competitions and creativity workshops to the creation of a collaborative digital book and a virtual library – encourage the active involvement of all participants, both students and teachers, from the two high schools in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. By using shared digital resources, exchanging ideas, and creating original products, the project promotes transnational cooperation and fosters a culture of responsibility, collaboration, and mutual learning.

The main aims of the project are:

• to foster an enduring interest in reading and strengthen its role as a fundamental tool for developing critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.
• to promote intercultural collaboration through joint activities that encourage the exchange of ideas, values, and good practices between students and teachers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
• to enhance digital competences by using online resources and Web 2.0 tools to create original, interactive, and bilingual educational products.
• to cultivate civic spirit, responsibility, and collaborative learning, preparing students to become active, adaptable, and engaged citizens in a globalized society.
• to strengthen teamwork abilities and shared leadership by involving all the participants in decision-making processes and collaborative activities.

National Culture Day, celebrated on January 15th in Romania, honous our country’s rich cultural heritage and the birth of Mihai Eminescu, Romania’s greatest poet. The day celebrates literature, arts, and traditions that have shaped Romanian identity. Schools, cultural institutions, and communities organize readings, exhibitions, performances, and creative workshops to inspire the younger generations of Romanians to explore and appreciate their national heritage. In 2026, this day continues to serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving cultural values while fostering creativity, learning, and pride in Romania’s literary and artistic achievements.

1. Readings and poetry recitals – students recite poems by Mihai Eminescu or other Romanian writers, developing expression and appreciation for literature.
2. Creative writing workshops – students compose poems or short texts inspired by Eminescu’s works or Romanian cultural themes.
3. Thematic presentations and exhibitions – posters, displays, or digital projects about the lives and works of major Romanian writers.
4. General knowledge contests – quizzes about Romanian literature, traditions, folklore, and cultural personalities.
5. Theater and literary skits – students perform scenes from Romanian literary works, fostering creativity and teamwork.
6. Film or documentary screenings – films about Mihai Eminescu’s life or the history and values of Romanian culture.
7. Debates and discussions – on the importance of the Romanian language, culture, and national traditions.
8. Drawing or painting contests – illustrations inspired by Romanian poems or literary works.
9. Creating a cultural corner at school – display boards with quotes, photos, and materials about Romanian cultural figures.
10. Digital and interactive activities – creating multimedia presentations, videos, or podcasts on Romanian cultural topics.

Ziua Culturii Naționale, sărbătorită pe 15 ianuarie în România, marchează nașterea lui Mihai Eminescu, cel mai mare poet al țării, și onorează bogata moștenire culturală a României. Această zi celebrează literatura, arta și tradițiile care au modelat identitatea românească. Școlile, instituțiile culturale și comunitățile organizează lecturi, expoziții, spectacole și ateliere de creativitate pentru a inspira tinerele generații de români să descopere și să aprecieze patrimoniul național. În 2026, Ziua Culturii Naționale rămâne un prilej de a ne reaminti importanța păstrării valorilor culturale, promovând în același timp creativitatea, învățarea și mândria față de realizările literare și artistice ale României.

1. Lecturi și recitări de poezii – elevii recită poezii ale lui Mihai Eminescu sau ale altor scriitori români, dezvoltând expresivitatea și aprecierea literaturii.
2. Ateliere de creație literară – elevii compun poezii sau scurte texte inspirate de operele lui Eminescu sau de temele culturii române.
3. Prezentări și expoziții tematice – afișe, postere sau proiecte digitale despre viața și opera marilor scriitori români.

7. Dezbateri și discuții – despre importanța limbii române, a culturii și a tradițiilor naționale.
8. Concursuri de desen sau pictură – ilustrări inspirate de poeziile sau operele literare românești.
9. Crearea unui colț cultural în școală – panouri cu citate, fotografii și materiale despre personalități culturale românești.
10. Activități digitale și interactive – realizarea de prezentări multimedia, videoclipuri sau podcasturi pe teme culturale românești.

For students, resolutions support stronger learning. Promises such as finishing homework before using their mobile phone or reading for 20 minutes each day build consistency. Over time, these small choices add up. Discipline grows when students keep showing up, even when it feels hard. A simple truth captures this idea: “Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like doing it.”

Teachers also benefit from clear resolutions. They may choose to give faster feedback, try new strategies, or protect time for reflection and self-care. When teachers share their goals and progress, students see that discipline and learning continue throughout life. They also learn that setbacks are normal and improvement comes from trying again.

A structured lifestyle develops when resolutions become daily habits. Short check-ins or classroom goal boards help everyone stay focused. Celebrating small wins keeps motivation alive. Step by step, students and teachers build confidence, responsibility, and resilience.

In the end, New Year’s resolutions are not about perfection. They are about progress. When we commit to them, we shape our habits and our habits shape our lives. Or, as the saying reminds us, “We become what we repeatedly do.”

What is one positive change that you would like to make or one personal or professional goal that you would like to achieve in 2026?

Within the framework of the Erasmus Accreditation 2023–2027, a number of five teachers who participated in the international job shadowing mobility carried out between 27–31 October 2025 at Theoretical High School No. 13 in Kraków and had as their main objective the digitalization of the teaching and assessment process, created interactive digital resources for the benefit of the entire school community of Liceul Teoretic "Radu Vlădescu".

The participation in the EU-funded project 2025-1-RO01-KA121-SCH-000321135 enabled direct observation of how an educational institution in Poland integrates digital technologies into teaching practice, particularly in the areas of lesson design, formative and summative assessment, and the provision of personalized feedback to students. As a result of these experiences, and in accordance with the agreed learning agreements, the participating teachers developed five open educational resources each, designed to capitalize on the positive experiences and the exchange of good practices identified during their Erasmus job-shadowing mobility.

The resources created include interactive LIVRESQ lessons, assessment quizzes, and digital materials developed using modern tools such as Kahoot, LearningApps, Google Forms, and other digital applications effectively used in the European schools observed. These materials support the implementation of innovative, student-centered teaching approaches and contribute to the diversification of assessment strategies by using technology as a tool for learning and progress monitoring.

The creation and dissemination of these open educational resources directly contribute to the multiplication of Erasmus+ mobility outcomes, ensuring that the entire school community has access to the competencies and expertise acquired by the participating teachers. The teaching staff can adapt and integrate these resources into their own instructional practices, our students benefit from interactive and relevant learning activities, and the institution strengthens its capacity to deliver a high-quality educational process aligned with the current requirements of digital education.

Through these initiatives, Liceul Teoretic “Radu Vlădescu” demonstrates that job shadowing mobilities represent an essential instrument for the teachers’ professional development and for the sustainable modernization of the teaching, learning, and assessment process, to the benefit of all members of the school community.

In December 2025, the activities of the local project It's the Season of Christmas Carols brought together students of all ages willing to celebrate Christmas through creative and inclusive activities. The participants worked collaboratively to prepare festive cards, Christmas wishes, and enjoy carol singing. A seasonal presentation encouraged reflection on kindness and generosity, supporting the students’ emotional and social development. The card-making session allowed the pupils in class 4A to express creativity and share goodwill in a personal way. The project promoted teamwork, empathy, and confidence while creating a warm atmosphere that spread festive cheer and reinforced a strong sense of belonging for everyone involved.

The 2025 edition of Global Education Week ran from 17 to 24 November and was organised under the theme “Shaping a Just, Peaceful and Sustainable Future”, inspiring participants worldwide to “turn hope into action.”

GEW invites schools, youth groups, NGOs and communities to host workshops, conferences, environmental-education activities, and civic-engagement projects around the five core pillars of the 2030 Agenda: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership.

The North-South Centre of the Council of Europe and the Global Education Network coordinate the campaign globally, helping mobilise and support educational and community efforts across Europe and beyond, promoting global citizenship, solidarity, and sustainable, inclusive development.

Obiectivul principal al mobilității a fost dezvoltarea competențelor digitale și interculturale, prin observarea directă a modului în care profesorii polonezi integrează tehnologia în educație. Încă din prima zi, am fost întâmpinați cu entuziasm de echipa gazdă, care ne-a prezentat școala și ne-a implicat în discuții despre utilizarea resurselor digitale pentru eficientizarea proceselor administrative și didactice. În cadrul mobilității, am participat la ateliere de lucru și lecții demonstrative, am asistat la activități educaționale care au combinat metode tradiționale cu instrumente digitale moderne și am descoperit cum pot transforma aceste tehnologii învățarea într-o experiență interactivă, colaborativă și motivantă pentru elevi.

Pe lângă asistențele la clasă și atelierele de lucru, am participat la întâlniri tematice dedicate educației digitale, protecției datelor personale și siguranței online. De asemenea, am avut ocazia să discutăm cu psihologul școlii despre prevenirea cyberbullyingului și sprijinul oferit elevilor cu nevoi educaționale speciale – aspecte extrem de relevante și pentru contextul școlii noastre.

Un moment deosebit a fost realizarea unui proiect colaborativ – o carte digitală despre avantajele și dezavantajele utilizării tehnologiei în educație. Această activitate ne-a stimulat gândirea critică și creativitatea, punând accent pe folosirea conștientă și echilibrată a instrumentelor digitale.

Experiența nu s-a limitat doar la partea profesională. Programul a inclus și activități culturale care ne-au permis să descoperim frumusețea orașului Kraków și istoria sa impresionantă. Schimburile interculturale și momentele petrecute împreună cu profesorii gazdă au consolidat relații de prietenie și viitoare oportunități de colaborare.

La finalul mobilității, am reflectat asupra asemănărilor și diferențelor dintre sistemele educaționale din România și Polonia și am identificat modalități concrete prin care putem adapta bunele practici observate la realitățile școlii noastre. 

În concluzie, această experiență Erasmus+ a fost o sursă valoroasă de inspirație și învățare care ne-a ajutat să ne îmbunătățim competențele digitale și pedagogice, să înțelegem mai bine rolul tehnologiei în educația modernă și să ne dorim să devenim agenți activi al schimbării în propria comunitate școlară. Mobilitatea din Polonia a fost o lecție valoroasă despre inovație, colaborare și deschidere către Europa educației viitorului.
